Karthi and Vishal, the twin pillars of the Nadigar Sangam are uniting on screen for the first time for a film titled ‘Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja’ directed by none other than Prabhu Deva fondly known as Master in the industry. ‘Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja’ is produced by popular actor turned educationist Iyswari Ganesh who also co-produced the recent hit ‘Devi’. The film will go on floors early next year once Karthi and Vishal complete their current assignments. Prabhu Deva is one of the highest paid directors in Bollywood and his last Tamil film was ‘Vedi’ also starring Vishal released five years ago. More details about this exciting project will be out sooner than later.

Kollywood had to witness an unfortunate incident yesterday in the form of the death of Director/Producer Subash, the man behind films like Chathriyan, Pavithra, Ezhaiyin Sirippil, 123 and more films. Vishal, while mourning the death of Subash, had posted in his Twitter account, "Dir #KSubash passed away.1st person who said I cn bcome an actor.cn neva 4get u. .proud to do ur last script wit Karthi." Going by his tweet, it is evident that Subash has penned the script of Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja, which will be directed by Prabhu Deva, starring Vishal and Karthi in lead roles. Kollywood will indeed miss the presence of a talented screenwriter and director.
Pirated DVDs of 'Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru' seized
In a raid conducted by Chennai Crime Branch Tuesday, hundreds of pirated DVDs of Tamil comedy "Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru" (TVSK) were seized from places such as Burma Bazaar and China Bazaar here. TVSK, featuring Siddharth and Hansika Motwani, released worldwide June 14. The film is doing well at the box-office as it reportedly collected Rs.10 crore in the first week in Tamil Nadu. "As part of its ongoing enforcement campaign, UTV today cooperated with the Crime Branch Control in its raid against two targets namely; Mohd. Arone and Savarimuthu, dealers of pirated DVDs operating out of different shops in Chennai," said a statement from UTV Motion Pictures, the producers of the film. "Both were arrested on charges of criminal counterfeiting. Investigations are ongoing to identify the source and locations of the manufacturers of seized goods, who will also be prosecuted as appropriate," the statement added. A total of 180 DVDs of TVSK and 20 DVDs of "Settai", which is also produced by UTV, were seized from the shops.

Madan of Escape Artists who has made huge business by selling the rights for other small and main areas in TN. Cinematographer turned director Velraj helmed Velai Illa Pattathari with Amala Paul as the heroine. Anirudh composed VIP audio is a big hit and the trailer got huge reception from viewers. Dhanush's Velai Illa Pattathari is gearing up for a grand release on July 18 in theaters near you. While, ATMUS Entertainments snapped Dhanush's VIP international theatrical rights, Cosmo Sivakumar [Kovai], Narayanasamy [Trichy], Ashok Samraj [Salem], Anbu Pictures [Madurai], Kozhi [Tirunelveli Kanyakumari], Five Star Senthil [North / South Arcot], Pankaj Mehta [Chengalpet], Saravanan [Chennai City]. VIP is expected to be Dhanush's biggest release so far, as the film is going to hit 400 screens alone in Tamil Nadu.
Dhanush's Velai Illa Pattathari is for All
Dhanush-starrer Tamil action-comedy "Vela Illa Pattathari" (VIP), which happens to be the actor's 25th film, has been passed with a U certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film will hit the screens Friday and Dhanush is excited about it. "Dear fans, press and media. I'm super excited to announce that VIP has been censored with a 'U' certificate and will release on coming 18th," Dhanush posted on his Twitter page Saturday. Directed by debutant Velraj, the film also features Amala Paul, Saranya Ponvannan and Samuthirakani in important roles. In his 12-year old career, the 31-year old has starred in films such as "Aadukalam", "Pollathavan" and "Pudupettai". Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently busy shooting for R. Balakrishnan's "Shamitabh" with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan.
Dhanush’s 25th film titled ‘Velai Illa Pttathari’
Dhanush, who has earlier reported that the titled of his 25th film will be unveiled on Au 15, on the occasion of Independence Day has now unlocked it along with logo and the title is ‘Velai Illa Pattathari’. On this Dhanush in his twitter page said, “happy independence day ! here is d title of my 25th film.waiting for ur feedback tweeps @Amala_ams @anirudhofficial” Amala Paul, who has earlier paired top notch stars of Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, will be seen opposite Dhanush in 'Velai Illa Pattathari'. Cinematographer Velraj will wield the megaphone for this Dhanush starrer that will have music by Anirudh Ravichander.
