Venghai out of the trap

Finally, Venghai seems to have managed to come out unscathed from the legal wrangle that was imposed on it. The film ran into trouble with a wannabe director, Kalai Selvam claiming that the title belonged to him as he had it registered. This created a lot of confusion and the matter was taken to the court for settlement. Now, everything seems to have been sorted to the satisfaction of all the parties concerned. Director Hari and Dhanush have got the title Venghai and the film will be released on July 7th 2011 as planned earlier. Venghai stars Dhanush and Tamannah in the lead roles and this movie has been awarded an U/A certificate.

Venghai Releasing on July 7

Venghai', a Dhanush-starrer directed by Hari, has come out of a legal tussle it faced last week, for the producers Vijaya Productions are now planning to release the film on July 7. According to sources, a settlement has been reached between Eka Chakra Media (P) Ltd (which claimed rights for the title 'Venghai') and Vijaya Productions, following which the movie is gearing up to hit the screens. Last week, the release of the film was stayed by the Madras High Court due to a contesting claim by Eka Chakra Media. The company said based on its application, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) had registered the title Venghai in August last year. The registration was valid for one year and a further renewal of six months. However, Vijaya Productions, director Hari and Sun Pictures, which had purchased the negative rights, had given the title to a film as Venghai, to be released in July, knowing fully well that the title had already been registered by Eka Chakra. Staying the film's release, Justice V Ramasubramanian said that despite the title having been registered in favour of Eka Chakra, the very same name had been given to the film made by Vijaya Productions.

Track list of Venghai out

Director Hari and Dhanush’s forthcoming flick ‘Venghai’ is much-awaited due to reasons many. In the decade long career of Hari’s, out of his ten movies nine have been box-office hits and even blockbusters. He can be rightly referred to as K-town’s master of commercial entertainers. After bagging the National Award, fans’ expectations from Dhanush has become multi-fold. The movie stars Tamannah opposite Dhanush and the duo’s earlier ‘Padikathavan’ was a good entertainer. The music is composed by DSP who is known for his fast and peppy numbers. Now ‘Venghai’s track list is out, and looks like we can surely wait for yet another mass-masala action flick soon. The lyrics are penned by Viveka and Hari and there are five tracks in this flim. While “Dhenam Dhenam…” is sung by Benny Dayal, it is said that there are rap interludes that are written and sung by Baba Sehgal. “Yenna Solla Pore…” is sung by DSP himself, who is best at his peppy numbers, so we can guess that this might be one of those fast-paced tracks. “Kaalangathale…” is sung by Karthik and Roshini, “Orey Oru…” by Tippu and Harini. Mukesh and Suchitra have lent their voices for “Pudikale Pudikuthu…” The story revolves around how an angry young man should never get to the usage of weapons to vent his anger.

Dhanush next film Vengai is going on a non-stop shoot in Karikudi. Director Hari is canning important scenes on Dhanush and Tamanna along with the other supporting characters. As per the schedule director Hari is shooting few scenes, which are happening in a private bus. Dhanush was happy for the bus sequence as he recalled his school days at St. John’s School, Alwarthirunagar. One more interesting thing is Dhanush always loves to shoot in a bus for his films. The film is an out and out mass entertainer along with all the commercial aspects. The first look of Dhanush itself reveals that he is doing a role of a villager, while Tamanna is seen in pucca traditional outfits in the entire film. Dhanush tweeted “Shooting in a bus!
