Popular heroine Vijayashanti is turning a producer to make a film with a subject on separate Telangana. Tamil director Praveen Kanth is directing the movie with Akkineni Nagarjuna and Charmme playing the lead, while Vijayashanti is appearing in a special role. 'Dakshayani' is the title confirmed for the movie. The subject is being prepared with separate Telangana subject and at the same time it would have all kinds of commercial elements. These details were disclosed by the director Praveen Kanth in an interview to a Tamil magazine.
Vijayashanthi is back?
Director Sakthi Chidambaram has approached Tollywood star Vijayashanthi to play a pivotal role in his next film 'Idi'. 'Idi' features Sundar C in the lead role. He teams up with Sakthi Chidambaram after tasting success in 'Sanda'. According to Sakthi Chidambaram, 'I have always been making films giving importance to comedy. But this did not give me the necessary footage and leverage in the industry. Hence I have decided to shift my focus to action films and I felt that Vijayashanthi would be the right choice for an important character in my film. Discussions are going on with her and I am positive about her reply.'
Vijayashanthi In Kaththilantodu!?
‘Kaththilantodu’ happens to be Chiranjeevi’s comeback 150th film after a gap of 8 years. There’s something more than this if the news on Vijayashanthi is also becoming a part of ‘Kaththilantodu’ is really true and materialized. This will be her comeback to film industry after 12 years. Like Mega Star, even Vijayashanthi played pivotal role in state and central politics living up to her firebrand and Lady Amitabh image. However, she distanced from TRS and Telangana politics at wrong time. Currently, she is neither active on political front nor in cinema field. As per the reports, Chiranjeevi and VV Vinayak are planning to rope Vijayashanthi for a special character in ‘Kaththilantodu.’ When both of them felt she would be a perfect choice for this role, they approached and she responded positively. However, she is yet to sign on the dotted lines before allotting the diary pages. There are many rumors circulated from past on Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanthi developed ego clashes during their peak career days. Then they decided to never work together. Whatsoever if ‘Kaththilantodu’ paves for a patch-up, it’s good that Tollywood will have one more powerful heroine beginning the second innings.
Double whammy for Vijayashanthi's fans
Vijayashanthi may have given up films long-time back. But there is a double whammy waiting for her fans. The one-time top star of Telugu had long ago done a movie named Nayudamma. But for various reasons the movie had been lying in the cans. Vijayashanthi had played a dual role in the film. The film's producer M Ramakrishna says all the problems concerning the movie is over and the film will be released shortly . It is a larger than life role for Vijayashanthi. At a time when she is harboring huge political ambitions, Nayudamma may provide the spark for her.
Kollywood ready for another Vijayashanthi?
After an impressive debut with 'Poda Podi' young and chirpy actress Varalakshmi Sarathkumar bowled everyone with her brilliant performance in director Bala's 'Tharai Thappattai' as a bold and loud rural woman who is madly in love with the hero. Now she is acting in two interesting projects. One is director Arun Vaidhyanathan's 'Nibunan' in which she plays a woman police officer along with action king Arjun and Prasanna. She is also simultaneously acting in the Malayalam flick 'Kasaba' alongside Megastar Mammootty. After playing a strong character in 'Tharai Thappattai' Varu says she aspires to become an action heroine. Given her performance, capacity, we need not be surprised if she gets more and more action oriented heroine characters after the release of 'Nibunan' . Robbery at Vijayashanthi's home! Here is what happened
Actress turned politician Vijayashanthi has recently complained at Banjara Hills police station that her diamond ring and Gold jewelleries have gone missing from her home at the MLA Colony.She suspected that some of the maids in her house may have done this. Police have immediately filed FIR and has investigated with everyone working in the house and it was found that two maids and a male servant have looted the jewellery.Police have then arrested them and recovered the jewels.
