Post Aparichitudu, Vikram has won a huge fan-following in Tollywood too. Anniyan directed by Shankar featuring Vikram in three different roles had a dream run not just in Tamil Nadu but also in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. It was dubbed and released as Aparichitudu in Andhra Pradesh. Following the good run in Telugu, Vikram had expressed his desire to act in a direct Telugu film once he completes his next film Bheema. A popular director in Andhra Pradesh Chandramouli has reportedly narrated a story to Vikram and the actor is mighty pleased. Sources say Vikram may sign up the movie which would be produced by Chandramouli himself.
Vikram gets ready
Vikram is all set to begin shooting for Bheema to be directed by Lingusamy and produced by A M Rathinam, beginning on 14 April. Vikram last film Majaa, a remake of Malayalam hit Thommanum Makkalum did not do well at the box office and forced him to take some time before finalizing a proper script and commence his next. According to Vikram, 'Lingusamy has come up with an excellent script work in Bheema. It would be a pulsating action film with all commercial ingredients'. The Bheema unit would be heading towards Sri Lanka where a major portion of the movie would be shot. Though it is rumored that Trisha would play the heroine, it is not yet confirmed as to who would be playing Vikram's ladylove. Lingusamy is hopeful of finding a heroine before they go to shoot. Bheema may be seen on the screens for Deepavali.
Vikram's sensitive side
Actor Vikram celebrated his birthday on Monday in a noble way by spending time with mentally-retarded children. Vikram was at Vidya Sudha, an initiative of the Sri Ramachandra Learning Centre for children with special needs. He chose to celebrate his birthday with the children affected by autism, dyslexia, Down's syndrome and other disabilities. Vikram is the brand ambassador of the center. An emotionally-moved Vikram, said, 'It's strange why such beautiful and happy children are disowned by their parents'. Earlier several popular film personalities greeted Vikram on his birthday.
Vikram goes to Bollywood
Vikram is all set to speak in Hindi. His mega-hit movie Anniyan released last year will be dubbed and released in Hindi as Aparichit. Directed by Shankar, the movie features Sada opposite Vikram. Aparichit is expected to hit the theatres this month-end. It comes with a tag line --- A New Stranger. It may be recalled that Anniyan dubbed and released in Telugu as Aparichitudu went on to become a blockbuster and collected huge revenue. The movie was also a big hit in Kerala. Anniyan is the first movie of Vikram to be dubbed and released in Hindi. Let's hope Vikram succeeds in his maiden venture in Bollywood.
Vikram vows Bollywood
After Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Sridevi, Vikram is now trying to hog the limelight in Bollywood. His blockbuster Anniyan directed by Shankar dubbed and released in Hindi as Aparichit has witnessed a decent opening. Though there have been complaints on the quality of the dubbing, Vikram's histrionics in three different roles (Ambi, Anniyan and Remo) has won for him huge accolades. Though the film has been described as being over the top, Vikram has come in for huge praise from the knowing critics. The National award winning actor is now getting offers to act in straight Hindi movies. However all attention of Vikram is now on his next Bheema, directed by Lingusamy.
Vikram looks up to Mallu movies
When the chips were down, Vikram got a fresh of lease with Shankar's Anniyan. The movie raked in moolah not just in Tamil Nadu, but also in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. However his next Maja did not exactly set the cash registers ringing. Now Vikram is all keen to repeat the Anniyan magic in his next Bheema, the shooting for which is currently on in Chennai. The actor, who is flooded with offers in Telugu and Hindi, is keeping silent waiting for Bheema to get over. The latest buzz is that actor, who had acted in several movies in Malayalam before, watched Vadakkumnathan which stars Mohanlal in the lead role. He was impressed ths script and storyline of the movie that has reportedly acquired the remake rights of the movie. Once Bheema is completed, the actor may begin works to shoot the Tamil remake of Vadakumnathan. Previously it was Vikram had got the rights of another Malayalam movie Chandhupottu.
