Vikramaditya who debuted as a hero with Whistle, is the lead actor in K Panneerselvam directed Thollaipesi. This is the first film for director Panneerselvam, who has assisted director Fazil of Poovae Poochoodava, Varusham 16 and Kadhalukku Mariyadhai fame. Priyanka, who shot to fame with the recent super-hit film Veyyil, plays Vikramaditya's pair in the film. Debutants Arthi Thakur and Divya, models from Mumbai, also play significant roles in the film. Nizhalgal Ravi also plays a prominent role. This film which is produced under the banner Blue Waters Movie Makers, has cinematography by Shankar and music by S Santhakumar. The shooting is taking place at scenic locales in Courtrallam, Munnar and Ooty.
No bad reason for leaving Vikramaditya's film: Imran
Actor Imran Khan, who has stepped out of Vikramaditya Motwanee's film "Bhavesh Joshi", says there was no "bad reason" behind his decision to leave it. "I don't like to talk about reasons for not doing a film. It's disrespectful. There is no bad reason for leaving the film," Imran said. "There's something between him and me, so I don't want to disrespect anyone," he added. Imran was to play the lead in "Bhavesh Joshi". Last seen in "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein", the actor is currently awaiting the arrival of his first baby with wife Avantika. His films haven't fared very well at the box office, and Imran says it is indeed "disappointing". "Of course, it's disappointing, but one should learn to deal with it. I have always been choosy. I have done films that I have believed in. I don't think I have made foolish choices at all," he added.
Script is real hero of 'Udta Punjab': Vikramaditya Motwane
Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane says the script of his next production "Udta Punjab", which stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan, is the "real hero" of the film. Talking about the film, Motwane of Phantom Films, said: "The real hero of 'Udta Punjab' is the script. Shahid, Kareena and Alia were all attracted to the story and agreed to do the film." The movie focuses on the drug problem in Punjab, and it is told through four different stories from four different perspectives. Motwane said of the Abhishek Chaubey directorial: "'Udta Punjab' is a brilliant film. Just watch it, you will know by yourself." The thriller is slated to release on June 17.
