Several names have been put forward. Right now its all very hush-hush. Vikram's stationed there for a week to continue his search. Of course, the hunt will get more intense in case Vikram fails to find a suitable girl in London; auditions will shift base to India. Wanted to know her better: Vidya Balan on Kamala Das biopic

Actress Vidya Balan, who will be seen portraying Kamala Das, says the Indian-English writer was very progressive and she agreed to do this biopic because she wants to know her as a person. "Kamala was very progressive, she was very strong. I loved the script (of the film) the minute I read it. I agreed to do this biopic because I want to know her as a person. She is a very unique person and I just want to know her better," Vidya said. The actress, who has delivered impressive performances in films like "The Dirty Picture" and "Kahaani", says she doesn't pay heed to people's opinion about her as it affects her. "I don't read anything about myself. I don't base my life on that. If I have to base it on something, I would base it on positive things," the National Award winner said. Vidya, who dabbles in multiple genres of cinema, believes people are ready for all kinds of films. "People had said that after a point, masala films will not work, but even today masala films are working. There will be new kind of films coming out everyday."

I Wanted To Play Sippys Gabbar, says Big B

'Amjad Khan and I struck a good friendship during 'Sholay'. In fact, I wanted to play the role of Gabbar Singh and I told this to Ramesh Sippy (producer-director of the original Sholay),' said Amitabh Bachchan, the New-Gabbar-On-The-Block, at a five star hotel as his unusual look was unveiled at an event in a five star hotel in Mumbai on Saturday 7th October. Big B is enacting the character of legendry villain Gabbar Singh and 'Ram Gopal Verma Ke Sholay' is said to be one of the biggest remakes of Hindi cinema. Directed by Ram Gopal Verma, the film is backed by Adlabs Films Limited. In the grand event to unveil the look, Mr. Bachchan walked in a black coat wearing dark pink shades. He said, 'These dark shades are not the look of Gabbar. Whenever I start shooting with Ramu, I get an eye infection and which is why these dark shades.' 'Adlabs has a long standing association with Ramu. This is one of our forthcoming films. Only Ramu could have thought of casting the super hero in a super villain role. I would have thought the look would have been suited booted villain of today's time but only Ramu could have thought of this look,' Said Mr. Manmohan Shetty of Adlabs. '30 years ago When the original Sholay was being shot Gabbar Singh was the villian, but today I think he is seen as a hero and who else but the superstar of our time to play this character. Lots of effort has been put to get this look for Mr. Bachchan,' said Ramgopal Verma. Amitabh Bachchan in his characteristic style narrating his conversation with Ramesh Sippy (the director of the original) continued, 'Ramesh Ji told me no you will have another role in 'Sholay' and not Gabbar. It is nice that today at 64 I am getting to play Gabbar. We have started the shooting and at the end of the day I feel exhausted because playing Gabbar is not easy. I am overwhelmed and embarrased that Adlabs and Ramu decided to unveil this new look in such a grandeur fashion.'

Bachchan wanted umeed se duguna?

The Kaun Banega Crorepati controversy ceases to die down. Rumours are spreading as if flames of a house on big time fire. There were reports that Big B is very upset with Star Plus and SRK for going ahead with KBC even though he was keen on doing it. But if a tabloid report is to be believed then, the reason why the channel went ahead with SRK was Bachchan insisting on getting double his price for finishing off the remaining 26 episodes (the episodes left due to Mr Bachchan's illness last year). Umeed se duguna'Anyone' Shahrukh Khan on the other hand is leaving no stone unturned in stressing that he is 'Not going to be a host but a dost.' At a press conference in Delhi yesterday, SRK was in good humour and answered the probing questions in a lighthearted manner. He also said that he is willing to go on his knees to convince Mr Bachchan to be a celebrity contestant on his show. 'I would drive him myself to the studio,' he said. Shahrukh Khan will address the media in Mumbai today. You bet, it's gonna be one hell of an event'.

Always wanted to debut with comedy film: Kainaat Arora

Kainaat Arora, who will make her acting debut with Hindi comedy film "Grand Masti", says that she always wanted to foray into the acting world with the entertaining comedy genre. Other than comedies, she loves romantic films, and says she would have always chosen either one of them for her first film. "I enjoy comedies and love stories and so I always wanted to do a comedy. But comedy is not an easy thing to do," Kainaat said. She said the "Grand Masti" experience was thrilling. The movie is a sequel to the 2004 film "Masti". "It is fun shooting for comedy films. 'Grand Masti' was double the fun as 'Masti' itself was a big comedy film. The story is different this time. It is a different script. Being a part of the film by Indra Kumar was a treat as he is an interesting filmmaker," she said. The actress will be seen opposite Vivek Oberoi. "I was very happy and glad that I am featuring opposite Vivek. I was so happy as I have seen the first part. He is a very supportive guy. I have seen his negative roles also and have liked them. He has a great comic timing and there was not one even one serious moment for us," she said. Kainaat hails from Dehradhun and she has completed her studies in merchandising from National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi. But her desire was always to get into acting. "I always knew that I wanted to be an actress... since I was six years old! After my college, I was getting offers for advertisements. I also walked the ramp for many designers. Everything was happening on its own and I never planned much. I was working without a portfolio," she said. The actress entered Bollywood with the song "Aila re Aila" with Akshay Kumar in film "Khatta Meetha", directed by Priyadarshan.
