Shaam's forthcoming film 'Antony ' Yaar', directed by Pandi, hit the floors in Chennai on Monday. Starring Mallika Kapoor opposite him, the movie features Shaam in the role of a fisherman. Speaking at the muhurrat, Shaam said, "I play a fisherman in the movie. After 'Iyarkai', I would be shooting in the fishing hamlets of Tuticorin for the movie. I watched the body language and mannerisms of the fishermen for the movie. It has a gripping storyline and one of the tough characters that I portrayed so far in my career." Shaam is currently acting in a Telugu film 'Cash and Maya' and an untitled Kannada film.
Sneha to release Anthony Yaar music album
Actress Sneha will release the audio of the Shaam starrer 'Anthony Yaar' at a grand function to be held in Chennai on the 3rd of October. The movie has musical score by Dheena. The audio function would be graced by the likes of Prasanna and Keerthy Chawla. The movie is being produced by C Vijayakumar for Annam Films International and is directed by C T Pandi. Mallika Kapoor plays Shaam's heroine. Interestingly, Vivek plays a fisherman called Kingfisher. He appears in the movie as did MGR in Padakoti. Speaking about the movie, Pandi says, 'We shot a few important scenes on the shores of Uvari village in Tirunelveli district for which we even created a fishermen's hamlet.' 'There are enough twists and turns in the movie leading to a thrilling climax', he adds. Dheena has scored the music, Santanio has cranked the camera and Silambarasan has sung a number for Shaam. Speaking about the movie, Shaam says, 'I watched the body language and mannerism of fisherfolk. The film has a gripping storyline and is one of the toughest characters that I had portrayed so far in my career.' The rest of the cast includes Rajesh, Prem Shankar, Venniradai Murthy, Pragathy among others.
Vivek as MGR in Anthony Yaar
Vivek plays a fisherman called Kingfisher in the Shaam starrer 'Anthony Yaar'. He appears just as MGR did in the yesteryear classic 'Padakoti'. According to director Pandi, ''Anthony Yaar' featuring Shaam in the lead role, is an engrossing tale. Vivek is at his best in comedy sequences and moreover his comedy is part of the story itself'. Speaking about the movie, Pandi says, 'We shot a few important scenes on the shores of the Uvari village in Tirunelveli district and created a fishermen's hamlet'. After playing a soft hero in his earlier movies, Shaam ventures to do a rough-and-tough fisherman's role in 'Anthony Yaar'. The movie is being produced by C Vijayakumar for Annam Films International and is directed by C T Pandi. Mallika Kapoor plays Shaam's heroine. Dheena has scored the music while Santonia has cranked the camera. Actor Silambarasan has sung a number for Shaam. The rest of the cast includes Rajesh, Prem Shankar, Venniradai Murthy, Pragathy among others. Pandi says, ' 'Anthony Yaar'? is a full length commercial entertainer. Plans are on to release the film next month'.
Tragedy at 'Sarvam', 'Anthony Yaar' shooting
Shooting for the film 'Sarvam' was planned at an 11-storey-under-construction building near Gemini flyover in Chennai. A scene was planned at the topmost floor and a make shift elevator was installed to carry the shooting equipment. Unfortunately, the lift collapsed killing two people on the spot and injuring two more with severe bleeding. The injured have been rushed to hospital. 'Sarvam' is directed by Vishnuvardhan and features Arya and Trisha in lead roles. In another unfortunate incident at the sets of 'Anthony Yaar' a crew member's fingers were severed after huge shooting equipment fell on his hand in Ori near Thiruchendur. A comedy sequence featuring Shaam and Vivek was to be shot when the tragedy occurred. The injured has been rushed to hospital and the shooting cancelled. The Tamil film industry has been plagued with unfortunate incidents of late causing injury and loss of life. Are these wake- up calls to strictly adhere to fool-proof safety standard measures?
Celina, Where Is The Party Yaar?
Just recently Celina Jaitely hosted a party to welcome her close friend from London. True to the expectations, the party rocked at her terrace apartment till wee hours in the morning. Subhash Ghai, Riteish Deshmukh, Sangeeth Sivan and Javed Jaaferi were amongst others who celebrated with her. Celina Jaitely incidentally has been on a brand endorsement spree. Recently she was signed to be the brand ambassador for Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs and Nile. Besides that Celina has also been signed up to endorse a mineral water brand as well as a saree brand. Looks like the party never ends for Celina!!
Car Yaar Kalakar
During the shoot of an item number for the soon to be released movie 'Hum Phirr Milein Na Milein' starring Sarwar Ahuja and Tabbasum's granddaughter Khushi there was a requirement of imported cars as a part of the props on the set. The arrangement for the imported cars was made by the director Manish Goel. But to his surprise the cars did not arrive and the shooting got stalled. There was no way such expensive cars could be arranged at the last moment. Sarwar who got this news in his vanity immediately called up all his friends owning imported cars. Within no time the required number of cars arrived on the sets and shooting resumed. All his friends had a gala time and enjoyed the item song shot with Sarwar and Riya Sen While the producer Rajesh Gupta thanked him and his friends for saving valuable production time and cost. The promos show Riya along with the borrowed cars of Sarwar's Yaars.
