He had earlier shot songs with comedians. Then he made Yamaleela to prove that a good script can work even without a top hero. Now, he is making a film with Venu Madhav. SV Krishna Reddy will be directing Venu Madhav in a yet-to-be-titled film. The film is being produced by Bekkam Venugopal under the Lucky Media Movies' banner. The film's shooting will begin on March 8 in the city. The heroine hasn't been cast yet.
Alis laugh riot 'Somberi'
Ali is the one comedian who can boast of a super duper hit film as a hero. His Yamaleela was a huge box-office success. So, once again, an attempt is being made to cash in on the popularity and comic timing of Ali. Titled Somberi, his latest film is being directed by writer Jonnavittula Ramalingeswara Rao. The film's unit has just returned from a 10 day shooting schedule in Krishna district. Shot in various locations at Kuchipudi, Puligadda, Srikakulam, Muvva, Avanigadda, a major chunk of the film is now complete. The producer of the film, Yarramalli Venkata Rao also disclosed that a song has been picturised on Ali and the two girls ' Rachana and Lakshya. Ruksha is playing the lead opposite Ali. The film is likely to be released in the last week of March or April. The film has various artistes such as Tanikella Bharani, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, AVS, MS Narayana and others in the cast.
'Gundammagari Manavadu' songs screened
The songs of 'Gundammagari Manavadu' directed by B Jaya, presented by K Achireddy and produced by Venkat on the banner of RR Movie Makers with Ali as hero were screened at a preview theatre in Prasad Labs on May 10 for the benefit of the film journalists. Vandemataram Srinivas scored music for the film. Addressing the journalists on the occasion, presenter K Achireddy says, 'Our film 'Gundammagari Manavadu' would be in the range of 'Yamaleela'. Already the audio was proved a hit and we are confident that the film would earn good name for B Jaya and Ali.' Director B Jaya says, 'Our film would earn compliments from the industry and also from the audiences. I am sure that it would be a good entertainer among the summer releases. We are releasing the film on May 12.' Executive producer V Suresh Reddy says, 'This is yet another good entertainer from our banner. The film would stand as a synonym for the love, affection and sentiment between a grandmother and a grandson.'
Padmini Arts to make a film with Ali
SS Rao of Padmini Art Pictures is planning to produce a film with Ali as hero. Speaking on the occasion Producer SS Rao says, 'Ali had earlier played hero in 'Yamaleela, Pittala Dora and Hangama' and enthralled the audiences. Now he is coming up before the audiences with 'Gundammagari Manavadu'. Now I am planning to produce a film with Ali as hero and Ram Kumar, who had worked with directors like Sana Yadireddy and KS Nageswara Rao, is being introduced as director through this movie. The details of the film would be announced soon.'
'Gundammagari Manavadu' to hit screen on May 12
DTS work is in progress for 'Gundammagari Manavadu' directed by B Jaya, presented by K Achireddy and produced by Venkat on the banner of RR Movie Makers with Ali, Nikhole and Sindhuri in the lead. The producer is making efforts to complete all the formalities and release the film on May 12. Director B Jaya says, 'Our film is now busy in post-production works. Vandemataram Srinivas scored music and the audio has become very popular. We made the film in such a way that the Telugu film industry as well as the audiences would pass good compliments. All the artistes watched the film and expressed their satisfaction. We have touched a typical subject with good sentiment, love and affection between a grandmother and grandson. 'Brahme Yeduruga Vaste'' song has become a big hit in the album and it would remain a big hit in Ali's career after his all-time hit film 'Yamaleela'. I wish the film would entertain everyone in this summer and at the same time wet their eyes with the sentiment part.'
'Gundammagari Manavadu' to hit screen in May 1st week
Post-production works are at full swing for 'Gundammagari Manavadu' directed by B Jaya, presented by K Achireddy and produced by Venkat on the banner of RR Movie Makers with Ali, Sindhuri and Nikhole in the lead. The shooting of the film was formally launched on Sankranthi day and was completed by Ugadi. Vandemataram Srinivas scored music for the movie and the audio is getting a positive response. Director Jaya says, 'The film was made in such a way that it would get good compliments both from the industry and the audiences. Each character in the film would be very effective. The film would be another big hit after 'Yamaleela' for Ali and would remain a milestone in his career. Though both the heroines are novices, they performed well. The film had achieved success right in the selection of title with 'Gundamma' in it. Producer Venkat gave me a free hand and left the total responsibility on me. I am confident that I would proved he did a right job. Though we thought of releasing the film on April 28, we postponed it to the first week of May due to some technical reasons.'
