Not many know how the popular producer-director duo of Don, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar first met! When asked, Farhan rewinds to the past, "We met in the principal's office when we were called in for doing something really terrible!!" Ritesh laughs, "We haven't been punished for it as yet! On a more serious note, it's a friendship that's formed over time. We were in school together for a few years." Adds Farhan, "Ritesh was working in his family business and I was working at a production house, writing the script of Dil Chahta Hai. It just so happened that Ritesh wanted to move out and produce a film. He heard the narration of Dil Chahta Hai along with his father and there was an immediate click." Substantiating what Farhan said, Ritesh remarks, "My dad owned a home appliances company, which has been around for 32 years. I had a lot of experience in marketing and dealing with consumers. There was nothing I could contribute to the film business as it was pretty set. I was an avid film-watcher and I was keen to do something on my own. I heard that Farhan (Akhtar) had written a script at that time and we met and got talking." Don releases in the UK on 19th October.
