Abhishek Bachchan owes his success in a big way to Mani Rathnam's 'Yuva'. For even though the movie didn't do great business at the Box Office, it firmly established Junior B as an actor of immense potential. He won several awards and from then onwards he never looked back. 'Dhoom', 'Dus', Bunty Aur Babli', 'Sarkar' and 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' cemented his position as an actor who can act as-well-as deliver hits. It's been a full circle'. Abhishek is now at a certain stage of his career when his last release 'Umrao Jaan' tanked without a trace and with competition from Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham and Shahid Kapoor hotting up, he needs to do something really different. And maybe 'Guru' is the answer. With Mani once again at the helm of affairs, it would be interesting to note as to what is in store for his fans. As is well known, 'Guru' is reportedly based on the life of Reliance chief Dhirubhai Ambani. It's about how he rises from being a mere villager to becoming one of the biggest industrialists of the country. The journey of Abhishek's character grows from youth to old age and for bringing a sense of realism he also put on weight. The promos of the film seem very promising and it sure seems to be a performance oriented role. Aishwariya Rai plays his wife in the film. Come December and Abhishek may well end the year on a very high note. It would also be interesting to note the changes in him from 'Yuva' to 'Guru'. Or in others words 'Yuva' may well have turned into a 'Guru'.

A.R.Rehman and Gulzar will try to get their music even better than last time when they teamed up for 'Guru'. Salman Khan is acting for Subash Ghai after a long time. Anil Kapoor, a Subhash Ghai regular and Zayed Khan also have prominent roles in the film. Sallu's real life girl Katrina plays his heroine. The most important portions of the film have already been completed and will most probably hit the screens during this year's Diwali. Let's wait to see if Subhash Ghai is still good in boggling our minds by making behemoth films.
