Anwar is a realistic film, said Mahesh Bhatt

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt praised Manish Jha's 'Anwar' as a realistic and aesthetic film addressing contemporary issues during its music launch in Mumbai. The event saw the film's cast and crew, including debutant Siddharth Koirala and Manisha Koirala, along with musical performances.

'It is wonderful to see such a realistic film based on the essential issues of today, done in an aesthetic manner and I wish the team of Anwar all the best,' said Mahesh Bhatt at the music launch of Manish Jha's 'Anwar' yesterday in an event in Mumbai.

Present at the launch were Producer Rajesh Singh, Director Manish Jha, Javed Jaffrey, Soni Razdan and the cast and crew Manisha Koirala, Siddharth Koirala, Nauheed Cyrusi, Music Directors Mithoon and Pankaj Awasthi and lyricist Hassan Kamal. Minister Rajendra Singh Rana, IT Minister (UP) inaugurated the audio and Mahesh Bhatt released the CD. All the guests had a really great time, and enjoyed the music.

The highlight of the launch was the sincere touch given to the musical theme by Nauheed Cyrusi and Siddharth Koirala, who appeared as their characters, with Nauheed in a Burkha and Siddharth dressed per his role in the film, and they sashayed around as the music started to flow in.

Anwar is about a young man Anwar, an artist, who leaves his home and everything he knows in order to escape a world he no longer recognizes. He finds himself trapped inside a temple and in the process exploited by people with vested interests. It marks the debut of Siddharth Koirala, and his first appearance with sister Manisha.
