'Adhivasi' with a cell phone will go places

'Adhivasiyum Adhisayapesiyum', the movie that has the comedian Senthil in the lead role, has instantly attracted the attention of movie buffs. The stills showing Senthil as a tribal man holding a cell phone with bizarre looks has triggered the expectations and served as a perfect launch pad for Senthil's evolution as hero.

Amidst lot of excitement and appreciation, we do hear some voices saying that the storyline reminds the theme of 'Gods Must Be Crazy'.

P.B. Babu, one of the producers of the movie, denies emphatically. According to him, this is not inspired by the flick, which had a tribal man who got the possession of a Coco-Cola bottle. 'This is our original idea'.

Why mobile? Why can't it be TV or computer?

Because mobile has become the common citizen's weapon, says Babu. 'One does go out without his wife but not without mobile. Today each and everyone could identify himself or herself with the subject of a mobile phone. It is all pervasive'.

Babu, who has launched the movie in style with an imaginative photo shoot, has planned to market this product in a big way. 'We are planning for simultaneous release in countries like Japan, where I have some business connections. We will release the dubbed versions there', says Babu.

He is so assured of the result of the movie which, according to him, would have 'universal appeal with such a theme'.

Babu along with Sivaramakrishnan produces this flick under the banner of BBC International. The Camera is handled by Kasi Viswa, while popular Telugu music director Chakri does the musical score.
