The Telugu film industry prepares for the summer season, with several upcoming releases facing competition from the ongoing Cricket World Cup.
After the Sankranthi season, the Telugu film industry would eagerly look for summer season. Because, summer season would be very precious as all the schools and colleges are on vacation and there would be a good turnout to the theatres during this season.
It may be mentioned here that 'Pokiri' turned a blockbuster during the last summer and created several records. However, there are very few films for release during this summer. At the same time, the World Cup cricket is going to become a major obstacle for the films.
According to film industry sources, Prabhas' film 'Munna' is ready for release in the first week of April, Rajanikanth's movie Sivaji, Gundammagadi Manavadu of Ali are slated for release on April 14, while Venkatesh starrer 'Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule' is slated for release by the end of April.
Before these, 'Muni' of Lawrence is going to hit the screen on March 2, while 'Okkadunnadu' of Gopichand, 'Jagadam' of Ram and 'Operation Duryodhana' of Srikanth are ready for release during March.
But for one or two big films, almost all the other films are of small heroes and not the top stars.
