Hollywood becomes the new playground for Reliance

A couple of years ago who would have though that so many corporates will one day try out their business in the entertainment industry with the same level of professionalism and efficiency with they handle other businesses making the entire work culture of Bollywood to change fast and adopt a time bound and corporate way of making movies.

There are enough and more examples of why everyone around is saying that Bollywood is going places and is to go to more exiting never before entered territories both in term of finding new audience as well as expanding its production base to even Hollywood too.

Now the time has come for the emerging economic power India's premiere film industry Bollywood to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in the world cinema to get started with an innings which can eventually lead the Indian film Industry in the future to be at par in terms of production budgets, scale and reach of Hollywood in all respects.

An Indian company Reliance Big Entertainment which is the media and entertainment company of the Reliance ADA Group, a US $100 billion diversified Indian business conglomerate will provide funds to companies such as Saturn Productions owned by Nicolas Cage, Jim Carrey's JC 23 Entertainment, George Clooney's Smokehouse Productions, 1492 Pictures of Chris Columbus, Playtone Productions of Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment and Jay Roach's Everyman Pictures.

The Reliance Big Entertainment owned by Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group is the largest film producer in India and owns physical studios and facility companies.

Chariman Anil.D.Ambani who is the 6th richest person in the world wants to join hands with the foreign film production players to extend its hold over the entertainment media in Hollywood too.

The deals with the foreign players brought to the table with the advice and guidance of Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in U.S.A. enables Reliance to co- finance projects and the creative people behind the films will enjoy full creative freedom.

Reliance Big Picture, the division of Reliance Big Entertainment will be focusing on media investments outside India through which the company aims for a creation of a virtual studio or new-generation media company and is part of Reliance Entertainment's long term strategy for media investments in Hollywood.

This decision is also to continue the growth of the company as a fully integrated movie company with substantial holdings in production, distribution and exhibition.

These deals with the production companies from other countries will automatically give reliance the rights of the film in India and the company also expects to attract suitable productions with appropriate incentives to India.

So far, so good for the growth of the Indian film industry as a whole.

Let the other bigwigs in the production business also follow this new way of collaboration and change once and for all the status and power of the cinema community in India.
