International Film Fest to start from Jan 3

This will be second year that the Hyderabad Film Club and the Directors' Association would be holding the Hyderabad Film Festival here starting January 3.

The week-long festival will end on January 10 and films from 34 countries would be screened for the public. Film lovers can watch them at five screens at Prasad's, Lalitha Kala Toranam and Amaravati. Nearly 150 films have been shortlisted under 15 categories.

A special mention has to be made of the films from Hungary, South Korea, Indian films from the North-East and Finland that one can look forward to.

A special short film and documentary section too has been slotted to encourage young and aspiring filmmakers.

Directors' association president Sagar, festival director CC Reddy, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, programme director Krishna Mohan and convenor Chitti Babu spoke about the various aspects of the forthcoming festival.
