Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has expectedly taken a great opening all over. There has been a lot of hype surrounding this Karan Johar directorial ever since the project was announced. The hype and pre release buzz is translating into great box office numbers.
ADHM has done well in the domestic circuit by grossing over 13 crore despite pre Diwali affect at the ticket window.
It has collected $ 600K in USA/Canada which is said to be the highest opening for a Hindi film in this year beating Sultan’s $ 500K first day collections in this region.
It is interesting to note that these numbers are pretty low compared to the opening day collections of Telugu cinema biggies in this region.
Mahesh, Pawan, NTR, Rajamouli and Trivikram films easily gross $ 1 Million in US on first day (including premieres).
That being said, ticket price of Telugu films is generally three times higher than the ticket price of Bollywood films here, which is also the reason for the dominance of Tollywood films in US market.
