One more yesteryear title filched

The trend of recycling classic film titles continues in Kollywood, with the 1984 thriller Nooravathu Naal being the latest to be reused.

Kollywood keeps resorting to names of old movies for the new flicks. Titles like 'Marma Yogi', 'Padikkathavan', 'Pollathavan', 'Nam Nadu', 'Vettaikaran', 'Deiva Magan', 'Anbae Vaa' 'Ulagam sutrum Valiban'and 'Ayirathil Oruvan' are some of the yesteryear titles that are being recycled now. Added to the list recently is 'Nooravathu Naal', the suspense thriller of 1984 which made Satyaraj more visible and brought stardom to him as an established actor. Directed by Kanna, the new Nooravathu naal is all about an aspiring actor and it dwells on the problems and struggles being faced by the newcomers in the tinsel town. The director says, "It is the aspiration of every film-maker to see his movie run successfully for 100 days. Hence we opted for such a title." A debutant Jera plays the hero while Suji Bala plays the female lead. Nasser, Raj Kapoor and Ramesh Khanna are also in the cast.
