Noted exhibitor Sv Rm Ramanathan's 'Panchamirtham' will hit the screens this December. Directed by Raju Eshwaran, who worked as an associate in the Rajnikanth starrer 'Blood Stone', the film has Jayaram and Nasser playing lead roles of mythological characters Maarichan and Naradhar.
Raju says, "Though there are mythological characters, it is a socio-fantasy film. The movie has lots of graphics which go along with the scenes."
'According to the epic Ramayana, Maarichan (the deer for which Sita gets abducted) dies of guilt that he cheated Sita. In 'Panchamirtham', the heroine (Saranya Mohan) comes in search of her grandfather (Nasser) to Ooty. The villains push her from a hillock, and she falls on the ground where Maarichan is buried.'
'Maarichan comes out of the grave and saves the girl. How he helps her to achieve her task forms the rest of the story. The director also enacts the role of Idumban', he says.
Cinematography is by Kasi Viswanathan. Panchamirtham would be released in the second week of December.
