Pelli Choopulu Going To Karnataka

Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma starred romantic comedy film Pelli Choopulu directed by debutante Tharun Bhascker was a runaway hit. Several noted producers from various industries showed interest and it was Gautam Menon who first grabbed remake rights of the film for Tamil. Nonetheless, the director is yet to make a decision on actors to reprise lead roles.

Pelli Choopulu Kannada remake rights have also been sold now. In fact, Kannada version will be made first to the Tamil version. Sanjeev Khasnis of Harsha Entertainers has bagged the rights for a fancy price. He managed to get the rights despite the tough competition from many other producers.

Noted Kannada choreographer Murali master has been roped in to direct the film and Gurunandan and Sharddha Srinath are the lead pair. Shooting of the film starts soon in December after the lead actors complete their prior commitments. More details about the project are awaited.

It may be mentioned here that, Salman Khan requested Tharun to remake Pelli Choopulu in Hindi, but the director smoothly rejected the offer as he had committed to do another film with Pelli Choopulu producers.
