Producer Apavanan has been sentenced to five years in prison following a CBI investigation into a cheque fraud case.
Renowned film producer Apavanan who made films like Oomai Vizhigal, Inanindha Kaigal and Senthoora Poove, has now been sentenced for five years.The producer was accused of cheque fraud by CBI and the court has also ordered him to pay a fine of 2.4 crore rupees. His wife Thenmozhi who was also alleged to be part of this fraudulence has been acquitted by the court.Also two bank officials were also sentenced for 3 years, along with a fine of 10 & 15 lakhs respectively.
