Shahid Kapoor is a fine actor and a fantastic dancer. But somehow he hasn't been able to get the role of a lifetime still. His debut flick 'Ishq Vishq' established him as one of the most promising youngsters around. The bond with Kareena Kapoor may have earned him lots of envious glances and brickbats too, yet, Bebo doesn't seem to be lucky for Pankaj Kapoor's talented son. For except for a stray multi-starrer '36 China Town' or a moderate success 'Chup Chup Ke' Shahid hasn't seen big time success.
It was being said that his tryst with Sooraj Barjataya's Prem in 'Vivaah' shall make him hit the jackpot. But if the songs of 'Vivaah' are any indication of what is going to follow, then his luckless days are going to continue. With due regards to the experience of Ravindra Jain, I don't think it made sense to take him on a music director in a film starring Shahid who is known to have a lover-boy-dancer image. Moreover, how can you even think of Udit Narayan doing playback singing for Shahid. It's just not gelling.
It seems Shahid will have to wait for a while before he can really stake a claim for being amongst the Most-Wanted in Bollywood. And he deserves to be there amongst the best.
