Shoonya to premiere at Holland Film Festival

Yashraj's discovery Tulip Joshi's film 'Shoonya' after her critically acclaimed 'Mathrubhumi', will have its world premiere in Holland. The film will be premiered at the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam 2007 (Jan 24- Feb 4).

The Rotterdam festival is considered unique and a treasured space because it gives talented filmmakers a gamut of films making process, from advising on scripts, marketing of films, gaining contracts and finance provided by Hubert Bals funds to deserving Films.

Directed by Arindam Mitra (producer of Black Friday) who considers 'Shoonya' to be the modern-day interpretation of T.S Eliot's 'Murder in the Cathedral' Arindam's Story & screenplay explores the subject of guilt, paranoia of life & honour in the public domain in the context of India.

The director uses the money generating spectrum of sports (cricket in India), in which the conscience ends up being a pawn in the hands of outside forces and vested interest. The film is based on the life of a cricket star and his tryst with fame and adulation.

The star cast has power house performers like Nasseruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon, Tulip Joshi, Seema Biswas & Satish Kaushik & Ninad Kamat.
