The ace director seems to leave no stone unturned. Shyam Benegal has an array of films and a collection of very prestigious Indian and international awards under his wing.
Benegal is now directing a film called 'Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur' which is an unusual mix of satire and comedy. The back drop of the film is set in rural India starring Shreyas Talpade who makes money by penning letters for the uneducated village mass. Amrita Rao shares screen space in this flick with Shreyas.
It is also reported that the director also has plans to make an epic musical- on love, jealousy and betrayal. A classic Spanish opera has inspired the ace director into the making of this.
Sometime back it was also rumored that Shyam benegal had plans to direct Hrithik Roshan for his film 'Buddha', an international project. Though the director has denied his association with Hrithik regarding 'Buddha' project, the director feels that Hrithik will look good if portrayed as Goutham Buddha.
