In one of his recent interviews, director Pandiraj has stated that though Simbu is a talented actor who can finish off his scenes in a single take, he is lazy. According to him, the shoot of Idhu Namma Aalu could have been finished off in five months, but needless delays pushed the film and shot up the budget.
Pandiraj joked by saying that while the shoot of Idhu Namma Aalu began, his son was born and now he has reached his kindergarten.
In the stopgap between shoots of the film, Pandiraj had indeed completed two films - Pasanga 2 and Kathakali which had both released before Idhu Namma Aalu. The director is now taking break before deciding on his next.
