Trade Report: EPC Madness at BO

Taking Box Office by storm, Nikhil's latest offing Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada is shattering the previous records. The supernatural thriller, released on Nov 18, is setting the cash registers ringing at the ticket windows. The film's collections are on par with a star-studded film. While the film is rocking in domestic market, the situation is no different in US and other overseas regions. Even in domestic market,  from multiplexes to single screens, the distributors are raking in good profits.Nizam distributor has apparently bought the film for 1.75 crore. Till Sunday, he said to have made a share of 3.5 Cr and gross of 7 Cr in Nizam alone. The Nizam distributor is expecting Rs 5 Crore share in the full run of the movie. "In Nizam 1st day we had 42 lakhs share. Even on yesterday (2nd Sunday), the film made 40 Lakh share. This is a rarity," said a source close to the distributors. The situation is same in Krishna district too. The 10th day share in Krishna district is 9lakhs+ which is equal with the opening day collection in the district.

The film is getting stronger day by day. The film's second week collections are said to be bigger than the first week numbers in many areas.Overseas rights have been bought by Nirvana Cinemas for 60k USD and the distributor has already made 680k US. Going by the trend, distributors are predicting another full free weekend in US. Overseas distributors are in bundle of joy as the film is racing towards 88k USD.According to trade, the film is expected to clock in Rs 20 Crore plus share in its full run (theatrical alone). On other hand, the film's satellite rights are being sold for Rs 5 Crore. Needless to say that the producers of EPC are laughing all the way to the bank.
