Former Miss India Australia Vimala Raman is gaining popularity in Malayalam cinema and is currently scouting for new projects in Tamil.
Vimala Raman, introduced by veteran director K Balachander in Poi, is a hot property in Malayalam now.
A former Miss India Australia, Vimala Raman's maiden Malayalam venture Time opposite Suresh Gopi is doing a good business.
Says Vimala, 'Though I very much want to do my next in Tamil after Poi, I was assigned to act opposite Suresh Gopi for a Malayalam movie titled Time. Directed by Shaji Kailash, the movie had a meaty role for me. Released recently, Time is running to packed houses in Kerala'.
She is now flooded with offers and is busy shooting day in and day out. Vimala plays the heroine in Pranayakalam directed by Uday Anandh followed by Sooriyan opposite Jayaram. A movie with Mohanlal is also in the offing.
Vimala Raman says, 'I want to do good roles in Tamil. Soon I would be back in Tamil as part of a big project'.
