Colombia's chief prosecutor says his office is investigating the manager of the company that was building a tower that collapsed in the city of Medellin over the weekend, killing at least one person and leaving another 10 missing.

Eduardo Montealegre told a Thursday news conference that those found responsible for problems with the building's construction could face manslaughter charges carrying a minimum of two years in prison. He says those being questioned include the manager of the construction company Lerida CDO.

Workers on Tuesday recovered the body of a 23-year-old student. Nine workers and a security guard were missing after entering the building to inspect a crack in a column before it collapsed Saturday night.

The 22-story tower was partially inhabited and in its final phase of construction.
