A 6.4 magnitude earthquake has struck northwestern China, damaging dozens of houses.
No casualties have been reported.
The quake hit Menyuan county in northwestern Qinghai province just after 1am local time on Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 10km, was followed minutes later by a 3.4-magnitude aftershock, state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
Authorities said no casualties were reported, partly because the epicentre of the quake was in an unpopulated area.
However, 54 houses were damaged, including about 20 which had cracks and holes in their walls.
The tremor could also be felt in Xining, the province's capital, and the in the neighbouring Gansu province.
