All is set for the film personalities to hit the roads in Chennai on 4 April near Chepauk.
Actors, actresses, producers, directors, and members of the various affiliate unions of the Tamil film industry will take part in the hunger protest organized against attacks on Tamil establishments and theatres screening Tamil films in neighboring Karnataka.
According to sources actor Kamal Haasan too has assured his participation in the protest. Vijay has cancelled his trip to New Zealand, Ajith has returned from Bangkok. Vijayakanth too has agreed to participate in the protest.
There will be no morning and noon shows in theatres throughout the State on Friday and all the shootings too have been cancelled. It means Dhanush's 'Yaradi Nee Mohini' will hit the screens only at 6 pm on Friday in all theatres.
Earlier on Wednesday, the honchos of Tamil Film Producers Council, Directors Association and Nadigar Sangam called on Chennai Police Commissioner Manchil Kumaran and sought his permission to stage the protest in Chennai.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka division of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce will be suspended from the Chamber till the problems related to screening of Tamil films and attack on the cinema halls in Karnataka is resolved, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce president KRG said.
