Asin has made a steady rise in Kollywood. In the last couple of years, she has been part of several big films including Sivakasi, Maja, Varalaru, Ghajini and Pokkri.
The actress is now making waves shooting with Kamal Haasan for Dasavatharam, alongside Suriya in Vel and opposite Aamir Khan in the Hindi version of Ghajini.
Thrilled at being part of a Kamal Haasan film, Asin says, 'It is a great feeling to be part of a Kamal Haasan film. It gives an actress a lot of confidence and hope. It is my second film with director K S Ravikumar after Varalaru'.
Not divulging much detail about role in Dasavatharam, she says, 'I play a meaty role and would be a sure hit at the box office'.
On plethora of Malayalam heroines in Tamil industry today, she says, 'A few years ago girls from Mumbai dominated Kollywood. One should understand art knows no language barriers'.
Asked about the secret of her success, Asin says, 'I choose my characters with utmost care. My self-confidence is a major strength. I love to work hard'.
