Popular singer Chinmayi has again landed herself in a controversy in Twitter. Here are the details.
Last weekend, actor Madhavan had shared a photo in Twitter in which he had used the word ‘Thala’ to mean something else. For that a person (with a comedian’s photo as profile picture) replied in a sarcastic tone against using the term ‘Thala’ according to his wish while Ajith is the only person worth of being addressed as ‘Thala’.
Chinmayi had shared Madhavan’s photo and this person’s comment and mocked Ajith fans with her Tweet (which she has deleted later on). This has apparently irked Ajith fans who are rampant in Twitter space and they have been engaging in a war of words with Chinmayi while some over emotional fans have resorted to harshly abusive and even filthy language against the singer.
Chinmayi took the issue to Facebook and wrote a detailed post criticizing fans of Ajith who have abused her in Twitter and that gained the attention of national English daily. The next day an article highlighting the Facebook post of Chinmayi was printed in that newspaper.
This seems to have irked Ajith fans further and many of them allege that Chinmayi is making fans of Ajith and Vijay as easy targets for gaining popularity. Looking at what is being shared virally in social media regarding this matter, it appears that a Twitter handle presumably of a woman asked Chinmayi as to why she termed her abusers as Ajith fans in Facebook post while she cannot be sure whether her abusers were really the fans of Ajith or those who intend to defame Ajith with such tactics. Chinmayi has apparently replied in a cold tone to this poser saying that it was not her duty to keep checking who is whose fan. She has also allegedly blocked a person who asked her on why being a celebrity, she shared Madhavan’s tweet (and the reply to the Tweet) which would serve no purpose other than provoking the fans of a particular actor.
It is worth recalling that Chinmayi’s tweet regarding the Tamil Nadu fishermen issue had turned into a huge controversy and became a cover story material for many Tamil magazines in the year 2012.
