Director Saran is called the 'badshah of commercial cinema'. A one-time associate of veteran K Balachander, he is a busy bee now - he's wielding the megaphone besides planning to produce a host of movies.
With a string of hits to his name - Kadhal Mannan, Amarkkalam, Parthen Rasithaen, Gemini and Vasool Raja MBBS, Saran has commenced his next Vattaram featuring Arya.
The director is celebrating his birthday today (Friday). He has greetings pouring in from various quarters.
A soft-Spoken Saran, says, 'My style of film-making is different from that of my mentor. It was a conscious decision to do films differently. I sincerely feel that if my movies have enough commercial elements it would reach out to the masses quickly. People should be given the right entertainment. K B School provided me enough lessons to do films to have mass appeal.'
Saran says,'When a combination strikes it rich on screen, I don't think there is a need to go for a change. The combination of music director Bharadwaj, art director Mahendran and cinematographer Venkatesh delivered success whenever they were approached. My satisfaction is immense when I work with them.'
The same team come together for Saran's Vattaram. Let's hope he go on to render a big hit.
