As the election date and venue have been finalized, the stage is set for what has turned out to be a war between the present administrators of the South Indian Artistes Association (Nadiagar Sangam) headed by the President R.Sarathkumar and the rebel group of actors headed by Vishal,
Yesterday we reported that the ‘Pandavar Ani’ (rebel group) actors had a meeting in hotel in Chennai regarding the election. Later Vishal has given some startling statements in his interview given to a private channel.
Vishal has said that if his group wins the election an inquiry will be ordered about the mishandling of funds of Nadigar Sangam. He also questioned why the Nadigar Sangam could not spend a few lakhs to build the memorial for Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan on its own while it claims to have spent Rs.13 laksh to conduct a relay fast involving all the actors for a particular issue. He also pointed out to the star night events conducted on behalf of the sangam.
Producer K.Rajan who has been a supporter of the incumbent administrators of the Sangam justified the money spent on relay fast as senior star actors like Rajinikanth participated in the fast and tight security arrangements and other facilities had to be provided for the actors.
Accusing Vishal of speaking like a novice, Rajan appealed to both the sides to facilitate smooth conduct of the election.
The election for key administrative posts of the Sangam will be conducted on October 18 in a school premises in Mylapore.
