It was an audio launch with a difference. A mega eye-camp was organised to coincide with the audio release of Kannum Kannum, a movie starring Prasanna and Udhayathara. Speaking on the occasion, lyricist Vairamuthu urged the music composers to give more thrust on tunes rather than on the use of heavy instruments. He said the songs of yesteryear films still sway the hearts of music-buffs because they had good lyrics and less instrumentation. Kannum Kannum is directed by Marimuthu and has musical score by Dheena. The first copy of the audio cassette was released by Vairamuthu and was received by Chennai Corporation Mayor M Subramaniam. Also present on the occasion included Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan and President of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, KRG.
