The top director Bala received the National award from the president Prathibha Patil for the best director for his film ‘Naan Kadavul’ at 56th National Film awards event organized in New Delhi today.
On receiving the award, director Bala said, “Getting selected for a National Award is not an ordinary thing. I feel honoured and it is time for me to ensure that I work hard in the future too. He further adds “It was one of the happiest moments in my life since I was honoured by the first citizen of the country.”
Ace cinematographer V K Murthy was honored with Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his lifetime achievement in the concern field. The actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been acted with Jayam Ravi in ‘Dhaam Dhoom’, received the Best Supporting Actress award from the President.
Bollywood industry has dominated by receiving 13 awards in various categories. The ace director Gautam Menon’s ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ also received the best feature film in regional languages award.
