Remix of yesteryear hit film songs is the new trend in Tamil cinema. Almost all the films have one popular number of the yesteryear in a remixed version.
Though a section of fans have upped their ante against the trend, a few music composers feel that there is no wrong in rendering remix numbers.
Check out what Yuvan says on the latest trend in Kollywood. 'I do remix only when everyone feels it is necessary for a film. I obtain 'no objection' certificate from the concerned music director, even if it is my father. When the song is liked by the masses, I feel there is no wrong in doing it'.
'I don't think we are doing a bad job of recreating the song. The instruments are abundant in modern times and that doesn't mean it is spoiling the feel. Songs of those golden days are being catered in a platter to the people of today. Remix is not a bad take on the classics,' concludes the songster.
It may be recalled that a couple of days ago, veteran playback singer T M Soundararajan had expressed his displeasure at young music composers coming out with a plethora of remix songs.
