The first part of National award winning director Vetrimaaran's dream project Vada Chennai is likely to hit the screens in 2017. The two-part film, which has Dhanush in the lead, will narrate the 30 years in the life of a gangster. Amala Paul will play the role of a fisherwoman and almost 40 percent of the shoot is complete.
Bankrolled jointly by Lyca and Wunderbar Films, the film kickstarted with a jail scene and Dhanush has allocated 200 days for this thriller saga. It also stars Director Siva, Andreah, Daniel Balaji, Kishore, Samuthirakani, and others.
Vijay Sethupathi will play an extended cameo while Andreah will appear as his wife. He will be playing a don. With music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, the film is expected to be a hi-octane action thriller.
