Gowtham's much-awaited Varanam Aayiram began on Monday. After Khaakha Khaakha, Suriya and Gowtham come together again for Varanam Aayiram. The movie would be shot extensively in Afghanistan. A photo session with Suriya wearing traditional costumes of an Afghanistan was done recently. Gowtham teams up with cinematographer Rathnavelu for the first time. Harris Jayaraj scores the music while Thamarai pens the lyrics. Kuthu Ramya and Daniel Balaji are in the cast.
