Iraivi Review


Iraivi aka Iravi is a Tamil film directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Thirukumaran Entertainment. Vijay Sethupathi, S. J. Surya, Bobby Simha, Anjali and Karunakaran will play starring roles.

Story Line

The story is based on a Christian family, and the relationship between two brothers. However, the women in the film Anjali and Kamalinee have also been given a lot of importance. It also shows how women in this day and age influence the society.

Iraivi movie explains about women, men and their priorities of the life. It talks about women’s freedom, and also the film reveals that how men look at the women and her priorities’. The film is based on the women we see around us and how certain things stay the same, irrespective of the class or her background she belongs from.

Production

The title of the film was announced in September 2014 after the release of Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda, with Kumar reveals that Bobby Simha and Karunakaran signed on for roles. Vijay Sethupathi and SJ Suryah were added to the film and it was reported to be a multi-starrer, as production developed.

On April 2015, the film held discussions with actresses in the lead roles with Pooja Kumar and Anjali considered, with the latter later signed on. In June 2015, Kamalinee Mukherjee informed that she was part of the project, although she did not divulge details about her role.

The film had an official launch on May 2015 and began filming, with Sivakumar Vijayan announced as the cinematographer replacing Gavemic Ury.
