Director Sai Kiran Adivi says his forthcoming Telugu release "Kerintha", which releases in theatres on Friday, will present a slice-of-life story with characters that will be etched in the minds of the audiences.
"This story heavily relies on its characters. It's a youthful entertainer about the journey of the characters of the movie. It's based on life experiences and how the characters in the film deal with it. It will be a slice-of-life story with memorable characters," Adivi told.
The film features Sumanth Ashwin, Sri Divya and Tejaswini Madivada along with a few newcomers in the lead roles.
Going by the film's promos, one could easily mistake "Kerintha" to be another "Happy Days". But the director thinks otherwise.
"Just because it looks youthful and features a young cast, it doesn't make it 'Happy Days'. I had assisted Sekhar Kammula on 'Happy Days', but I wrote the characters of this movie ('Kerintha') long back. It took time for me work on them," he said.
He says it wasn't a challenge to handle an ensemble cast.
"I had taken care of the cast in writing. The clarity with which I wrote the characters helped me handle the actors easily. Since everything was clearly written down in the scripting stage, handling so many actors wasn't difficult," he added.
The film is produced by Dil Raju.
