Producers of the small budgest movies wanted to bring the issue on ticket rates to the Chief Minister's disposal. A few of the directors and producers of Tollywood felicitated the Chief minister of AP Mr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy on September 3rd, at his residence. During this meet, they brought several problems faced recently by the film industry to his notice. The people of the industry also assured him that they will give ultimate support in publicizing various projects which are proposed by the Government.
The current major trouble is the 'Ticket Rates' of movie shows. The industry people made the request that the tickets should be reduced to Rs.25 from the current price of Rs.50 during the first few weeks of the show. The rate change should also be implied to the Multiplex theatres and Imax, for all telugu movies.
They also requested that the leasing of theatres should be standardized. The steps to ensure a permanent system instead of these rental system for the movie shows should be designed accordingly. Movies made on the minimum budget released with about 35 prints should be relieved of tax payment.
The reports says that the Chief Minister has assured a response in favour of the industry people from the Government on these issues.
