Viji Chandrasekhar is an Indian film actress. She has appeared in several Tamil films in the female lead role while she has also featured in television serials. She is the younger sister of actress Saritha.
The actress made her debut as Rajinikanth's sister in the 1981 comedy film Thillu Mullu. She went on to perform supporting roles in films including K. Balachandar's Paarthale Paravasam (2001) as the sister of Raghava Lawrence, while in Mani Ratnam's Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004), she played the sister of Krishna's character.
In 2012, she played Nirmala, a vegetable vendor affected by bipolar disorder in Lakshmi Ramakrishnan's Aarohanam, and won critical acclaim for her performance. A critic from Sify.com noted "in an author backed role, Viji Chandrasekhar steals the show as she is the pivot around which the film revolves.
