Many a film fraternity has been influenced by the shocking happenings in the political arena; be it a murder or a bomb blast where a top leader is assassinated. It not only gives the public a good idea about what almost happened but also unearths the gruesome minds behind the heinous act.
One such incident that might be preserved into celluloid soon will be the assassination of the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.
It is believed that director Anubhav Sinha and his team have been gathering materials on this incident that happened more than a decade ago at Sriperumbudur in Chennai. The film will be an investigation carried on by the media to disclose the myth behind the incident. Like most other real life incidents made on celluloid, this film too will start from the point where Rajiv Gandhi's life ends.
Though much about this project has not been brought under the media glare, we hear from our sources that the hunt for the hero is going on in full swing and that Junior Bachchan might be approached to portray the central character.
If all goes well, this yet-to-be-titled film might likely hit the theaters by the end of 2009.
