We had reported some time back that Aishwarya Rai was being considered for the role of Buddha's wife Yashodhara in the film titled 'Buddha'. Now it is confirmed news that Aish has been narrated the story of this film by the Paris-based NRI director Pan Nalin.
With a lot of fans for Aishwarya for her fantastic portrayal of Jodhaa in Ashutosh Gowarikar's epic movie 'Jodhaa Akbar', a lot of international historic films seem to be coming her way.
Director Pan Nalin who has received many accolades for his film 'Samsara' is reported to have met with the Bollywood beauty and has discussed the script of the film with her. This NRI director has two films to his credit. One is 'Samsara' which deals with the story of a Buddhist recluse who leaves his reclusive life to enter into matrimonial bliss and there by undergoes all the hardships of a normal man and the other film is The Valley of Flowers, another crossover film.
Unfortunately this film did not do well at the Indian box-office. Though the director has met with Aishwarya and has narrated the story, the lady in question has maintained a dignified silence, so we are at the moment not sure whether she will accept or decline the offer. But the director seems very positive and feels his heroine will give him a green signal.
All we can do now is just wait and hope that Aishwarya accepts this film and offers us one more historical hit.
It is also believed that this film 'Buddha' will be directed from Yashodhara's angle.
