Bolo Raam Review

Imagine actors of the calibre of Naseruddin Shah, Om Puri and Padmini Kolhapure coming together and being a part of this worst thriller of the year which replays all the clichés, but delivers not a single of the expected guilty pleasures of a thriller.

The characters are half baked, not at all established and could be dispatched in any order, and it wouldn’t make an iota of difference.

The question is to whom to blame, the first timer helmer Rakesh Chaturvedi who shockingly thought that he can narrate this immaturely devised fit of inspiration where a young lad called Raam Kaushik played by the aakhri wannabe of this year Rishi Bhutani seems to trained in acting by some Hingorani (who’s that…..any way) who is in a state of shock as we are after 5 minutes of this tourturetainment in the name of entertainment.

Reason he is charged with the murder of his mother Archana Kaushik (Padmini Kolhapure – the only saving grace).

Mama was very dear to his shona, then why did he killed her…… kaho na kaho na kaho na asks investigating officer Indrajeet Singh Rathi (played by Om Puri……who has put on some weight by having extra portions of Aloo puri) but the hero falls into brief psychotic disorder.

Inspector then asks for help (and we cry for it silently) and consults a Psychiatrist, Dr. Ns. Negi (Naseruddin Shah what a waste) to determine the cause of Raam's state of mind and the reason for his silence. Doc is a chess fanatic. Anyway the ‘Shatarang ka Khiladi’ gives clues and the inspector follows. Vow! How ‘Kasporavich’ was that.

Well, all the proceedings are as boring and confusing without any ‘anand’ to the cinegoer of any race.

The investigations reveal the confused mind set of the protagonist who does some jap at the top of the roof and we don’t know why papa dear is not around for family breakfast, dinner etc.

He is immune to the passes made by his friendly neighbourhood Juhi Khan (Disha Pandey the last entry in the female list of Bollywood wannabe for this year) who still needs to learn how to shed a tear.

We only see Raamji blowing his nostrils making things worst than clear.

Anyhow, the ‘shocking’ revelation on who killed mama dear forces the viewers to grab the screen and continue to tear.

With not a single moment of cinematic stir, it’s been advised that you to stay clear.
