Prithviraj, the young actor was rumoured to be making a special appearance in the upcoming Mammootty starrer The Great Father. But, as per the latest updates, Tamil actor Arya has replaced Prithviraj. According to the sources, Prithviraj backed out of the project due to his extremely busy schedule. The movie is jointly produced Prithviraj, Arya, Santhosh Sivan, and Shaji Nadesan, for August Cinema. It is the third Mollywood outing of Arya, who entered the industry with August Cinema's debut project Urumi. Later, he joined as the fourth member of the company and acted in their 2015-released venture Double Barrel.
My Great Father, which stars Mammootty and popular child artist Baby Sara in the lead roles, is written and directed by newcomer Haneef Adeni. Sneha essays the female lead opposite Mammootty in the movie. Reportedly, the movie which is said to be a family thriller, depicts the story of the deep bonding between a little girl and her protective father. The rest of the star cast and further details are will be revealed soon. The project is expected to start rolling, immediately after Mammootty completes his current project Peranbu, directed by Ram. My Great Father is slated to hit the theatres as a Christmas special release.
