Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, the popular Tamil actress is making her Malayalam movie debut with the upcoming Mammootty movie, Kasaba. Varalaxmi is the daughter of popular South Indian actor turned politician, Sarathkumar. The actress is playing Kamala, an important character in the movie.
Some unexpected incidents create a link between Kamala and C.I. Rajan Zachariah, played by Mammootty and she brings an important turning point in his investigation. Kasaba is set in the backdrop of a village in Kerala-Karnataka border. The movie revolves around the struggles of Rajan Zachariah, who gets appointed as the Circle Inspector of the Kasaba police station situated in the town.
