Vijay Anthony and Satna Titus starring ‘Bichagadu,’ a dubbed film from Tamil ‘Pichaikaran’ directed by Sasi is running to unbelievable response in Telugu states. Released opposite to Mahesh Babu ‘Brahmotsavam,’ the movie picked enormously from second week with tremendous overflows. According to official reports, ‘Bichagadu’ rushing towards 50 days has raked Rs.18 Crores so far and probably touch 20 Crores mark, if everything goes well in this sixth week. Bichagadu Remake Not So Easy There
Bollywood production houses remaking hit south films is very common these days but the success percentage is reasonably low. Why a hit south film doesn't work in Bollywood? It's the nativity issue and the 'Lost in Translation' syndrome. Fox Star Studios has now acquired the Hindi remake rights of Bichagadu (Pichaikkaran in Tamil) and is mulling over to start the shooting once the casting is done. It is well known that Bichagadu had a sensational run at the box office in the Telugu and Tamil speaking states. Directed by Sasi, Bichagadu stars Vijay Antony in lead role. The film produced on a shoestring budget by Vijay Antony himself under his home banner has become one of the highest grossing films of this year. Now, the question is will the subject, especially the southern flavor, of Bichagadu be embraced by North audiences? Considering people of south and North have different sensibilities and tastes, movie analysts opine that there is very less chance of Bichagadu working in North with the core point getting lost in translation. They opine that remaking Bichagadu is plain murder of a classic southern film.
Bichagadu Amazing Strategy!
Like we said many times, Telugu films have found a new business zone in overseas regions, especially North American territory. In the USA and Canada, our movies are faring excellently at ticket windows posing a challenge to Bollywood and Kollywood. Every time a new movie with entertainment and emotions is released, Telugu NRIs queued at theaters to feel as if they are at home watching their own movie. Anyways, recent sleeper hit ‘Bichagadu’ from Vijay Anthony and director Sasi is all set to release in the USA after completing 100 days in domestic market. As per official reports from producers, ‘Bichagadu’ is releasing on August 26th in the USA. With a positive talk already took it into Rs.20 Crores club, this is a wise move from producers to check their extra luck. ‘Pichaikkaran,’ the Tamil original to ‘Bichagadu’ was just an average in Tamil Nadu. In contrast, our Telugu audience connected so well with the film and made it a blockbuster challenging the biggest of star releases came in its way. Hope, the strategy works same in USA too.
Bichagadu Creates History!
Bichagadu can definitely be termed a successful venture for the Telugu film industry after a long time. The return on investment is so high that not even blockbuster Telugu films have managed to reach the mark in recent times. So much so, it is one rare film that managed to reach the 100 day mark of run at the theatres. How often do we even see that? Interestingly, when the movie released, there were zero expectations and the publicity was very low as well. However, with its content appealing to the viewers the film went on to become bigger by the day. And guess what! The films purchased in Telugu for a mere Rs 40 lakh, has gone on to rake in over Rs 20 crores in 50 days. And with the film garnering immense buzz and popularity, looks like the makers have a plan on hand and have decided to release it overseas too! Well, the popularity isn’t an exaggeration because the film has crossed a 100 day run in over 60 centers across the Telugu speaking states and this milestone speaks for itself. And now, with August 26th being decided as the date of release overseas, it will be interesting to see how this movie fares there and whether it will recreate the magic.
Bichagadu Black Money Idea Rocks The Nation

Allu Sirish Opposite To Bichagadu in USA
Here is the strange scenario of two films ‘Srirasthu Subhamasthu’ and ‘Bichagadu’ released on Friday that is yesterday in the USA. One might be shocked on why such long delay happened in American release of these two. Then, you have gone wrong. Actually, Allu Sirish’s ‘Srirasthu Subhamasthu’ was released on August 4th in American theaters. Due to competition from other releases and unavailability of theatres restricted it performing under par at Box Office. When overseas buyer felt it would be a safe trick to re-release the movie, he has done it yesterday. However, Sirish definitely hampered the chances of ‘Bichagadu’ to go big in Overseas. Vijay Anthony’s excellent domestic hit ‘Bichagadu’ is planned for a decent release in Overseas after completion of 100 days in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana states. Had ‘Bichagadu’ came alone, there would have been moderate to average turn out of audience at American local screens. But, Sirish and Dulquer Salman (100 Days of Love) posed a challenge for Vijay. Whatever may be the revenue verdict, this game is just meant for four more days because when ‘Janatha Garage’ arrives on September 1st, that’s the end for opposition.
