Bruce Lee’s Creation To Turn Into TV Series

Popular actor Bruce Lee’s creation entitled Warrior will soon be turned into a TV series. Lee, who died at the age of 32 in 1973, left behind some handwritten notes that were later discovered by his 47-year-old daughter, Shannon Lee who thought of weaving it into reality, reported FemaleFirst. The show will be set in San Francisco’s Chinatown where Lee was born. It will revolve around the story of a young martial arts prodigy. The cast has yet to be decided but the show will be developed by Justin Lin and Jonathan Tropper. Shannon will serve as a producer to the project under Bruce Lee Entertainment. Warrior is not the first creation that the Big Boss star left behind. He once developed a script for a movie, The Silent Flute, which was made into Richard Moore’s film Circle of Iron five years after Lee’s death.

My cameo in 'Bruce Lee' perfect treat for my fans: Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi on Friday said that his cameo in his son Ram Charan's upcoming Telugu actioner "Bruce Lee: The Fighter" will be like a delicious dessert after a good meal. Making a comeback after 8 years to the silver screen, Chiranjeevi will be seen in a 5-minute cameo in the film. "My role comes towards the end of the film. It'll be the like the delicious dessert you wait for after a good meal. I'm sure the role will be the perfect treat for my fans," Chiranjeevi told reporters at the audio launch of "Bruce Lee: The Fighter", which is slated for worldwide release on October 16. Directed by Sreenu Vaitla, the film also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Kriti Kharbanda and Arun Vijay in important roles. Chiranjeevi specially thanked the film's cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa for making him look good. "I wasn't sure how I'll look on screen after a gap of so many years. It was only after I saw the rushes of the first shot on the monitor; I was convinced that people will still come to watch me on the screen. I have to thank Manoj for making me look smart," he said. Spilling beans about his much-awaited 150th film, Chiru, as he's fondly called by his fans, said that the project has been locked, but details about the same will be officially revealed by his son and wife shortly. Reportedly, Chiranjeevi will star in the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster "Kaththi".

Tisca Chopra to make Telugu debut with 'Bruce Lee'

Actress Tisca Chopra, most popular for her work in films such as "Taare Zameen Par" and "Rahasya", is making her Telugu debut with Ram Charan-starrer upcoming actioner "Bruce Lee". "Tisca plays a rich, powerful and independent woman in the film. It was director Srinu Vaitla, who has followed Tisca's work closely, decided to cast her as he felt she was apt for the role," a source from the film's unit told. Ram Charan plays a fighter in the film and even sports a tattoo of legendary martial arts artist and actor Bruce Lee. The film, which is slated for theatrical release on October 16, also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Vijay and Sampath Raj among other in important roles. "Bruce Lee", however, is not Tisca's first southern outing as she has already worked in two Malayalam films.

Deviated from tried-and-tested path with 'Bruce Lee': Sreenu Vaitla

Director Sreenu Vaitla says his forthcoming Telugu film "Bruce Lee: The Fighter" is as commercial as any of previous films but adds that he has attempted something different and has deviated from his regular template. "One thing my films always guarantee is entertainment. 'Bruce Lee' too is loaded with all the usual elements of entertainment but in the process I've deviated from the regulate template of making commercial films," Vaitla told. "I've made films where stories were told in an entertaining way and ones where I've tried to fit entertainment in the story. 'Bruce Lee' falls in the first category of films and that's why I think it will work," he said, and added that audiences will find something different in the film, which hits the screens on Friday worldwide. Clarifying that the film can't be branded as an actioner, Vaitla said it has all the elements to entertain family audiences too. "Ram plays a stuntman and people around him call him Bruce Lee, it's a pet name and it has nothing to do with the genre of the film. There's comedy, romance and drama to appeal to everybody, so people shouldn't treat this as an action film," he said, and lauded the efforts of Ram for the preparation for his role. Ram learnt mixed martial arts for the film and trained with experts in Hong Kong. "He worked extremely hard and since we worked on a tight schedule, he barely had time to relax. We had decided on the release date even before we went on the floors, so obviously we couldn't afford any sort of delay," he said. After 8 long years, megastar Chiranjeevi returns to face the arc lights in a cameo role. This is the second time Vaitla has teamed up with the 60-year old actor. "I worked with him a decade ago in 'Andarivadu', and honestly, directing him in this film was more enjoyable. He looks even more energetic than he was back then and that has hugely benefited the film," he said. Produced by DVV Danayya, the film also stars Kriti Kharbanda, Tisca Chopra and Arun Vijay in important roles.
