More news →Sophia returns as BABY DOLL
After a brief and hardly noticeable act in 'Shaadi No.1', VJ/singer Sophia is back in the limelight for big screen with 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects'. While Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose are certainly making heads turn with their naughty'n'funny antics, Sophia intends to ignite some heat with her BABY DOLL act. She does this for a rocking item track by Pritam, 'Bad Boy/Allah Bachaye' that has just been premiered on the small screen. A sensual'n'inviting number picturised on Sophia where she promises to be a BABY DOLL if only the man in her life becomes a BAD BOY, it has all in it to set the temperatures soaring. Though Sophia is a singer herself, it is Alisha Chinoy who croons the track. No wonder this PNC film looks a lot more exciting and happening than their last outing 'Ankahee' that turned out to be a damp squib at the box office inspite of being a decent product.

Sushmita Sen was recently seen with the kids of Saint Catherine's Home at Fun Republic, Andheri on 18th Feb.'07, Sunday. She spent a lot of time dancing, singing and chatting with the kids and also accompanying them for the screening of the movie "Bridge to Terabithia". Katrina launches Barbie doll inspired by her
All dolled up! The right phrase to describe actress Katrina Kaif, who was dressed like a doll when she came to launch a Barbie doll inspired by her. The actress was dressed in a fuscia satin gown, exactly like her doll, for the Wednesday event. "It's a very special day. This is a huge honour to have something like this on your name. I hope everyone likes the doll. The whole thing is very exciting," Katrina told reporters here. The campaign is called "Barbie I Can Be a Movie Star". "It's a small doll and there was no intention of changing its features, so it does not resemble me completely," said the actress.
I am Care a damn attitude love-doll in 'Don' - Isha Koppikar
Post 'Kya Kool Hai Hum', Isha Kopikar has been quite selective about her choice of her films. Listen to her as she talks about what prompted her to opt for 'Don - The Chase Begins Again'. "Don was one of the projects which just felt right and needed no thinking. It sounded exciting from the word go and impulsive as I am; I just went with the flow. More than the character it was the movie I was attracted to but soon I fell in love with my part too' 'Anita is just my kind of a girl 'Care a damn attitude love-doll'. She lives in her own world and creates her own space. Little different than the original, she's louder with her actions and obviously her bad habits. Maybe a lot more spoilt' after all, that's what I love about it."
Are you ready to watch 'Ra.One' with Dolby 7.1 system?
Shah Rukh Khan's "Ra.One" promises to change the movie-going experience for cinegoers here. For the first time, the Dolby surround 7.1 system is reportedly being installed in several multiplex theatres in the run-up to the sci-fi's release. And this is not just a vain wish to be one-up on all the other technically-sophisticated films. SRK is going all-out to ensure "Ra.One" sets a new benchmark for technical finesse in Hindi cinema. In June, the film's technical team headed by Shah Rukh will be in Los Angeles to get special sound effects done for the film. These effects, never used in any Indian film, can only be experienced fully only when the new Dolby equipment is operational. Oscar winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty, who will also go to Los Angels, said: "You see, 'Ra.One' is not just a movie experience. It will be the first Indian film to hover somewhere between being a game and a movie. It requires a very unconventional sound and visual quality for which we're getting the Dolby 7.1 system installed." The idea to get sound effects done in Los Angeles and to install Dolby 7.1 in Mumbai's theatres comes from SRK alone who has taken complete charge of the project's post-production editing marketing and release. "The Dolby 7.1 format goes a long way in creating a larger-than-life experience on 'Ra.One'. We're looking at changing the Indian audiences' movie-viewing experience this Diwali," said Resul. He admits multiplexes in Mumbai are going for a makeover for the release of "Ra.One". "And for this I want to give a large part of the credit to Ramesh Sippy, who has been hands-on in supporting us in the campaign to update and modernize and sound and projection in the theatres," he said. Explaining the Dolby 7.1 system Resul said: "Dolby 7.1 is a new sound format which gives you two additional surround channels that ensure much wider sound compared to the present Dolby 5.1. "All the digital cinemas playing sound through their native systems and formats will now have to go through a Dolby processor which follows and standardizes the cinemas according to the ground rules of the SMPTE (the Society Of Motion Picture & Television Engineers) and ISO (International Organization For Standardization) which ensure a better movie experience for the audience." Shah Rukh is apparently sold on the idea of taking Indian cinema to an international level with "Ra.One".
Dolly, One More Bobby!?
Pawan Kalyan’s selection of directors is always something special. He doesn’t care for the track record or values in script, technical aspects. What Pawan looks more for is a person with minimum knowledge and sincerity in handling a team and the main ability of dancing to his tunes; sources within film circles strongly believe so. At any point of time, Pawan can throw a director out at his will and wish if incompatibility is found. That’s his strong discretionary power many a times executed. Reports say, Dolly entering into director’s seat of SJ Suryah for Pawan Kalyan’s next movie is strikingly similar to Bobby replacing Sampat Nandi on ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh.’ With nothing much worked out on script and Trivikram already bagging Pawan’s call sheets from December this year or early next year, director Dolly is struck in strange position with sharp knife hanging on his neck. In this pressure cooker situation, Pawan Kalyan flying on a foreign trip is sure to invite further more troubles. By the time Pawan comes back, Dolly should be ready with script in order to take production forward. If he fails in impressing Power Star, it’s a U-turn and back to zero. Rather than giving creative freedom for director initially and curtailing later on, Pawan can sit with his team in locking the script. This not only saves the pre production time but also helps the direction department to have ample space for production and post production thus erasing the last minute mish-mash which generally happens for all the Pawan Kalyan films. Hope, Dolly realizes the certitude before things actually run out of his control.
